FEATURING THE AUSTRALIAN swing dance championships
Come along and join in or watch all the excitement and action of the Australian Swing Dance Championships 2019. A fantastic night to be entertained by some of the country's best dancers competing for great trophies, National Titles and prizes.
Competition dancing has always been a part of the Lindy Hop scene and was always a highlight at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem. The ASDC caters to all levels of dancers, with several events, including Balboa, Teams Events, Juniors, Solo Jazz and the ever popular Mix n Match (prev. titled Jack n Jill) where no set partner is required.
If you’re a newer competitor, the energy, comradery and support from fellow competitors will put you at ease and we can’t wait to see you on the dance floor and cheer you on!
For those not competing, Social Dancing will also take place throughout the night, so everyone gets a dance.

Jitterbug Jam Up Late
Inspired by the wonderful dancing from the ASDC’s? Keep the celebrations and night going at the first Late Night event of the weekend. Head to LDA Studio at Broadway, Glebe and dance to the wonderful Kate Wadey and the Presidentials. Some snacks will be available to keep the energy going, as well as soft drinks to purchase at the studio. BYO is welcomed.

The Deco Dance
Experience the glamour of the Deco Dance, as you don your dapper attire, or dress up in your finest vintage.
This year we are heading back to the beautiful Petersham Town Hall – the initial venue that started SLX back in 2005, with a desire to host a Swing Dance event in this amazing Art Deco space.
This will be a night full of dancing with a fabulous live band – Andrew Dickeson's Blue Rhythm Band with guest vocalist Jane Solo, DJ’s and a special performance by our International guest teachers that will showcase why they are some of the best dancers in the world. Don’t miss this highlight event of the weekend!
Limited on-street parking is available opposite the venue in the Council Car Park. Public transport is close at hand with buses travelling down Crystal St and Petersham Train Station a short 5 minute walk away.

P-Jam at Camelot
An all-time classic SLX event! Nothing beats the relaxing and homely feeling of jumping into your PJ’s, while you dance the night away with your Swing Dancing family till the wee hours of the morning.
Camelot Lounge has been a favourite Jazz venue of Sydney’s scene for 14 years. A relaxed vibe will suit your sleepwear attire. A licensed bar with snacks available will help take your dancing till the wee hours.
This is a non-BYO event.

Now You Has Jazz
Join us for the official closing party of SLX 2019. Dance with your new friends and party till we meet again at next year's SLX or another national event.
The Standard Bowl is the perfect venue for our last event of the weekend and is by far a favourite for most. A perfect venue to relax, have a drink, knock down some pins in the bowling alley, or just Swing Out!
This dynamically transformed space combines Americana styling, Darlinghurst cheekiness and an electric atmosphere. The dance floor is framed by 4 bowling alleys, a bar, exposed brick walls littered with American themed street art and a overlooked by a mezzanine level, complete with pinball machines and pool tables, with unobstructed views of the main floor and stage area. A true party venue and atmosphere!
Our live band for the night will be Queen Porter Stomp, and our DJ's will ensure the dancing never ends!
This is an over 18's licensed venue with full bar service available. No BYO food or drinks will be permitted into the venue.
